10% de vols en moins pour Thai Airways International en mai

Thai Airways International is scaling back its network due to soaring oil prices.

Like most airlines in Thailand (from Bangkok Airways to the low-cost carriers Thai AirAsia, Thai Lion Air and Thai Vietjet), The national carrier Thai Airways International is swept away by the tsunami of the US-Iran war and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The drastic drop in oil deliveries is forcing the Thai company to cut back on its capacity. This will result in a reduction of around 10% in its seat capacity in May. Last Friday, the carrier indicated that it had prepared alternatives to help passengers manage these changes.

Frequency reductions – see cancellations – affect all continents served by the Thai airline. 

On domestic routes, the carrier will reduce its flights from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi to Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani, and Udon Thani. For Khon Kaen and Udon Thani, the carrier is removing one daily flight; on Ubon Ratchathani, Thai Airways is cancelling two flights per week. 

In Asia, the affected lines are: 

  • Delhi: reduction of 22 flights/week to 21 flights/week (1st to 29th May 2026)
  • Hong Kong: reduction of 4 flights/day to 3 flights/day (6 to 31 May 2026)
  • Hyderabad: Reduction of daily flights (7 flights/week) to 5 flights/week (4 from 27 May 2026)
  • Kaohsiung: suspended (previously 1 flight/day) (8-31 May 2026)
  • MumbaiBombayreduction of 2 flights/day to 1 flight/day (1st to 31st May 2026)
  • Beijing (Capital): reduction from 2 flights/day to 1 flight/day (7 to 31 May 2026, excluding 29 May)
  • Phnom Penh: reduction of 2 flights/day (14 flights/week) to 11 flights/week (2nd to 30th May 2026)
  • Seoul (Incheon): reduction of 3 flights/day to 1 flight/day (8 to 31 May 2026)
  • Shanghai (Pudong): reduction of 2 flights/day to 1 flight/day (11 to 31 May 2026, excluding 30 May)
  • Singapore: reduction from 5 flights/day to 4 flights/day (2 to 31 May 2026)
  • Taipei: reduction from 3 flights/day to 2 flights/day (6-31 May 2026)
  • Tokyo (Narita): reduction from 3 flights/day to 2 flights/day (11 to 31 May 2026, except 29 May)

On Europe, Thai Airways International operates on the following routes. It should be noted, however, that the routes to Brussels and Paris are not affected by the reduction in frequencies. 

  • Copenhagen: reduction from daily (7 flights/week) to 5 flights/week (18 to 27 May 2026)
  • Frankfurt: reduction from 2 flights/day (14 flights/week) to 12 flights/week (18 to 27 May 2026)
  • Istanbul: reduction from daily flights (7 flights/week) to 5 flights/week (11 to 27 May 2026)
  • Munich: Reduction of daily flights (7 flights/week) to 5 flights/week (19 to 28 May 2026)
  • Oslo: reduction from daily (7 flights/week) to 5 flights/week (18 to 27 May 2026)
  • Stockholm: daily flights reduced (7 flights/week) to 5 flights/week (18 to 27 May 2026)
