Bukhara (Uzbekistan) as well as Juba (South Sudan) and Tivat (Montenegro). Turkish Airlines has resumed the strong expansion of its network, adding its three destinations which have in common the absence of a major international air network.
Turkish Airlines is therefore filling a gap. The airline has been serving Juba, the capital of the independent state of South Sudan, since 1 June. and offers three flights a week from Istanbul - every Monday, Wednesday and Friday - by Boeing 737-800. This is the Turkish carrier's 62nd destination in Africa.
Turkish Airlines launched its first flight to Bukhara on 7 June. from Istanbul. The airline offers two weekly flights (Tuesday and Friday) using Airbus A321neo aircraft.
Finally on Turkish Airlines offers three weekly flights to Tivat in Montenegro (Monday, Thursday and Saturday), also by Boeing 737-800. The route will operate until 31 October.
With Tivat, Turkish Airlines is thus a network of 360 destinations in 128 countries. This expansion comes as, in May, the company exceeded the figures for 2019, the last year before the pandemic. TK reports that it carried 6.3 million passengers in May, with an international load factor of 75.9%. In total, the Turkish carrier carried 24 million passengers in the first five months of 2022.
