Vietnam Airlines strengthens its position in ASEAN and Europe

With its first flight between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Manila and a future non-stop flight between Hanoi and Phnom Penh, Vietnam Airlines is continuing to strengthen its two hubs in South-East Asia. It is also planning to expand into Germany.

Vietnam Airlines is steadily expanding in ASEAN, the Association of South-East Asian Nations. The Vietnamese national carrier is also continuing to strengthen its position in Europe.

The Skyteam alliance member airline launched its first flights to the Philippines on 17 June. Flights depart from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The carrier offers 7 weekly flights to Manila. The Saigon-Manila route is served every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Hanoi-Manila has three weekly flights, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flights are operated by Airbus A321 with two classes of travel. To Manila, Vietnam Airlines departs Terminal 1recently renovated.

The carrier has also announced the launch of a non-stop flight between Hanoi and Phnom Penh. in Cambodia. The two Indochinese capitals are already linked by the carrier, but with a stopover in Vientiane in Laos. The non-stop service will start on 27 October, with four frequencies a week operated by Airbus A321 every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Vietnam Airlines will, however, continue to operate the Hanoi-Vientiane-Phnom Penh route on a daily basis. The airline also offers four daily flights between Phnom Penh and Saigon.

A new line to Europe

Finally, Vietnam Airlines is strengthening its position in Western Europe. After Paris-CDG, London-Heathrow and Frankfurt, Vietnam Airlines to land in Munich from this winter. At the end of October, the airline will begin three weekly flights from the Bavarian metropolis. A Boeing 787, equipped with three classes of travel, will connect Hanoi every Monday and Saturday and Ho Chi Minh City every Tuesday. A second flight to Saigon will operate every Thursday from December.

As a reminder, Vietnam Airlines transferred at the end of May part of its recording activity at Paris CDG. Economy and Premium Economy passengers check in at Zone 3 in Terminal 2F. Business Class passengers, Platinum members of the Vietnam AirlinesSkyTeam Elite Plus members can always check in at terminal 2E. Or choose Zone 2 in terminal 2F.
