Volotea to link Strasbourg to London

Volotea will be strengthening its position at Strasbourg airport with the launch in November of a new flight to London Gatwick.

Volotea launched sales of its new Strasbourg-London. It will be operational on 9 November next. Volotea, which will operate to Gatwickwill launch its first scheduled service to the UK. The airline will be the only player to offer this route. This route will probably be of interest to business travellers from Strasbourg, but they will have to cope with reduced frequency: Volotea only provides two flights a week between Strasbourg and Gatwick, the Thursdays and Sundays.

The launch, made official on 19 Julyconfirms the major role played by Volotea on theStrasbourg airport. The airline also claims leadership in terms of destinations and seats. Volotea has 22 destinations from Strasbourg - with the addition of Gatwick - and will offer some 760,000 seats this year to and from the Alsatian airport.

Strasbourg airport management is delighted with this new window on the UK. Renaud PaubelleChairman of the Strasbourg Airport Management Board, said: " Strasbourg Airport is delighted that Volotea has launched a route between Strasbourg and London Gatwick. This new route marks the consolidation of the already strong partnership between Volotea and Strasbourg Airport. It will enable Alsatians to discover or rediscover the world-famous British capital. It also makes the European capital of Alsace accessible to British customers, who will no doubt be charmed by the many attractions of Strasbourg and its region. ".

For his part, Volotea's Chief Strategy Officer Gabriel Schmilovich states: " Strasbourg is an important base for Volotea. We have been present there for more than 10 years and are keen to expand our offer and propose new exclusive destinations at prices accessible to all our passengers.
