A new development in the dispute that has been raging for several months between taxis and Véhicules de Tourisme avec Chauffeur (VTCs): the Conseil d'Etat has just suspended the fifteen-minute time limit imposed since 1 January this year between the customer making a booking and the VTC picking them up. The reason: distortion of competition and the urgency of the situation. "We proved that between the first 10 days of December 2013 and the first 10 days of January 2014, we lost 50 % of our revenue on all direct bookings", emphasises Yanis Kiansky, Chairman and Founder of AlloCab.com, one of the four companies that referred the matter to the Conseil d'Etat. A new decision is now expected "at the end of 2014", according to AlloCab.com.
