
Femmes fatales, disappointed lovers or historical icons: they express, beyond male fantasies and passions, the biography of these three creators as well as the context in which they lived. A hundred or so works from major international collections, including the Hermitage, the Tate Gallery, the Centre Pompidou and the Louvre, as well as, logically, the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, which has the most important Max Beckmann collection in the world.
