French business travellers will surely appreciate the ranking published on 12 June by the Swiss agency ATRA (Air Transport Rating Agency), which ranks Air France-KLM among the ten safest airlines internationally. This 2012 report, which stands out for its more global approach than the traditional accident liability, cross-references some fifteen criteria, such as the average age and homogeneity of the fleet, the number of pilots, or the amount of expenditure linked to maintenance. The result is a "White List" - as opposed to the black list published regularly by the European Commission - which includes, in alphabetical order: Air Canada, Air France-KLM, AMR Corporation (American Airlines and American Eagles), Delta Airlines, International Airlines Group (British Airways, Iberia), Lufthansa, Qantas, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways.
