An original and unique corporate event: that's what PortAventura Business & Events promises. And under the ever-present Mediterranean sun. Just an hour from Barcelona, PortAventura is one of Europe's and the world's leading leisure destinations, offering a wealth of experiences and thrills with its PortAventura Park and Ferrari Land theme parks, shows, hotels and restaurants. These are just some of the activities available for seminars, incentives and large-scale events.
Because, over and above its fun vocation, PortAventura World is also and above all a mecca for professional meetings with its "all in one" concept, combining business and entertainment. In 2022 alone, PortAventura Business & Events, its events department, will have hosted nearly 250 corporate events from all kinds of sectors, including the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, consulting and banking, and consumer goods. Among the major events organised at PortAventura this year were the National Assembly of the Spanish institution ONCE and a convention organised by the AZTEC Group. To celebrate its 21ste anniversary, this Luxembourg-based player in corporate services and alternative investment funds chose this festive venue to bring together its 1,200 employees from all over the world.
While 53 % of the events hosted by the leisure resort are domestic in scope, 47 % come from abroad, notably from France and the United Kingdom, two of PortAventura Business & Events' main markets. And to attract organisers, the events department has a team of professionals who are masters at organising large-scale events, particularly in the coordination of operations. This is no mean feat, given the resort's many different areas.
PortAventura Business & Events can also count on excellent infrastructures to organise its events. Its convention centre now offers 20,000 m2 and 24 multi-purpose rooms. As for accommodation, the park has one 5* hotel and five 4* establishments, for a total of 2,350 rooms.
To increase its capacity, PortAventura has recently extended the 4* Colorado Creek hotel, incorporating a new space, the LaLiga TwentyNine's restaurant. With a capacity of more than 250 people in cocktail format, this sports bar of 1,000 m2 is ideal for all kinds of events, with its outdoor terrace, bleachers and eSports area.
The PortAventura Convention Centre recently hosted the final of the Iberian Cup of League of Legends in its Alexandria hall, a competition bringing together professionals and fans of video games, watched by almost 200,000 spectators via Twitch. Another original event whose reach was maximised by parallel broadcasting from Twitch channels in seven countries was the Balloon World Cup. While almost 1,000 people were able to watch it live from the convention centre, the event recorded a live audience peak of over 3 million views!
But the future of the sector also lies in its commitment to eco-responsibility. And in this respect, the resort is a very good pupil, working to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the UN. PortAventura Business & Events can also boast internationally recognised environmental labels such as ISO 14001, the European EMAS certificate and the Environmental Quality Guarantee Award.
One of the key elements of PortAventura's events department is also the implementation of a responsible management model, for events that are increasingly respectful of the environment. PortAventura Business & Events aims to facilitate the reuse and optimisation of materials, gives priority to local products and offers companies the opportunity to offset the carbon footprint of their event.
