Faster growth at Roissy thanks to intercontinental traffic

By segment, domestic traffic fell by almost 5% last year. Its market share in the total traffic of the two Paris hubs has fallen to to 71.5% last year. This compares with more than 75% in 2023. Air traffic in the French overseas departments and territories is also marking time with a modest increase of 1.2% in 2024.
Traffic to Europe rose by 3.4%98.7%, almost back to its pre-Covid level. Nevertheless, passenger traffic to the European Union, Switzerland and the United Kingdom finally exceeded 2019 levels.
On intercontinental routes, passenger numbers rose by 7.8% to Africaof 5.5% to Latin America and 5% to North America. On the other hand, traffic on the Middle East fell by 3.8% under the combined effect of geopolitical unrest in the region and the resumption of direct flights from Paris to Asia.
VINCI Group in France also reports annual results
At the same time, the private VINCI groupwhich manages eight regional airports in France, has published its traffic figures for 2024. VINCI operates the two Lyon and Nantes airports. On the first, passenger traffic increased by 4.81TP3Q to 10.48 million passengers. Traffic at Lyon nevertheless remains 11% below its historic 2019 level. But the hub is likely to return to its 11 million annual passenger figures by 2025.
As for Nantes, its traffic once again exceeded seven million passengers. With growth of 7.9% in 2024Nantes is now just three points below its record for 2019. Nantes airport continues to assert its pre-eminence in Brittany.
