The US Department of Transportation (DOT) has had it out with GDS Amadeus, which was recently fined 95,000 dollars. The fine was for failing to distinguish clearly enough between code-share flights, as required by the new legislation. The authorities are seeking to impose greater clarity on airline customers, a sector blurred by alliances, mergers and other code-sharing strategies. Amadeus has stated that it is not in breach of the law, but the GDS will not be appealing this decision.
