Air France regional offensive: SNCF ready to resist

Air France's return to the regional network is prompting the competition to mount a fightback. In an interview with La Tribune, the Marketing Director of SNCF Voyages sets the tone.

With the redeployment of Air France in the regions, marked in October by the inauguration of the Marseille base, the other players in the sector are getting organised. EasyJet recently announced a counter-attack in Nice and Toulouse, the French airline's next two targets. The SNCF is also likely to retaliate soon, according to information - or rather leads - mentioned in Friday's la Tribune. The daily newspaper reports what Agnès Ogier had to say. The SNCF Voyages Marketing Director mentions "a specific action plan" already in place, focusing first on communication, then, if necessary, on more concrete actions for passengers: "we are not forbidding ourselves from competing directly with certain airlines". The message is clear: Air France will have to rely on the train to regain its place on the regional network.
