Spark by Hilton, a new brand launched by the American group at the top end of the economy segment, will continue to expand its network in France this year. Appeared in Lyon mid-summer 2025 with two hotels on the banks of the Saône, the brand is preparing to extend its network even further, this time close to the Eurexpo congress centre and the Groupama Stadium. Developed like the other hotels under a partnership with Arteloge Hôtels, the Spark by Hilton will be the result of the conversion to the Hilton brand of one of the group's hotels, the ParkEst, located in Génas, which offers business travellers 106 rooms and a restaurant, as well as three meeting rooms, the largest measuring 91 m².

Recently acquired by the Beauvallon family group, this Lyon institution closed its doors at the beginning of January, to allow time for a transformation entrusted to designer and art curator Joséphine Fossey. The new decor is due to be unveiled in April, and will include the renovation of communal areas, rooms and flats, as well as the reconfiguration of the gourmet restaurant, the creation of a bistro bar and speakeasy, and a new spa concept. What remains is the view, as unique as ever, over the metropolis from the swimming pool or terrace of this historic building, erected in the XVIIᵉ century on the heights of Vieux Lyon, below the Notre-Dame de Fourvière basilica.

As part of a new dynamic, Louvre Hotels' budget brand is speeding up the refurbishment of its establishments, with more than sixty being renovated throughout France to incorporate a new design and new standards. This includes the Campanile Lyon Meyzieu Eurexpo Arena, due to open in February, which will feature the PRIME label, dedicated to urban establishments. Other upcoming developments include the opening of a Campanile PRIME in Auxerre in the third quarter, and in Toulouse Borderouge later this year.

A key step for the Kyriad brand. The opening of a hotel in l'Isle d'Abeau symbolises both a development that is starting to move forward again and a desire to move upmarket with the latest generation of hotels that are firmly rooted in their local area. Acquired in the autumn of 2025, the Hôtel de l'Isle will be redesigned and modernised before joining the Louvre Hotels group brand network in March. Located right next to the A43 motorway, the train station and the shopping centre, the hotel will offer 53 rooms, completely redesigned communal areas and a restaurant in partnership with Giorgio e Basta, runner-up in the world pizza championship in 2016. This is the first of many new openings for the group, since in 2027 a Golden Tulip hotel will open its doors in nearby Bourgoin Jallieu, on the site of a former textile factory. At the same time, other Kyriads will open this year in Royan, as well as in Sarrebourg Pierrelatte and Chaumont, in the Prestige range, and in Anglet, Epinal and Tours in the Eco range.

Just over 30 years after the discovery of the Chauvet cave and ten years after its replica was opened to the public, a new hotel is needed to match the heritage value of this UNESCO-listed site, which is visited by more than 1.7 million people every year. Located between the village of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc and the Chauvet 2 cave, a Mercure hotel is due to open by the end of 2026, offering tourists and business groups a base in the direct vicinity of this vestige of prehistory. Featuring seminar rooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a spa, this eco-responsible project will include around fifty rooms spread over several buildings, including renovated sheepfolds and lodges integrated into the landscape, on stilts to avoid artificialising the land, according to France Bleu and the local daily La Tribune. The Mercure brand will also be adding other hotels to its French network this year, notably in Quimper.

Fontenille Collection, which runs a number of charming houses scattered across Normandy, Provence, the Landes and the Ile d'Yeu, has now opened its first Burgundy address, the future Château de Cîteaux, the result of the ongoing renovation and extension of the four-star La Cueillette establishment. Situated at the foot of the Meursault vineyards, this 36-bedroom property combines the elegance of a 19th-century mansion with the charm of a modern hotel.e century, built on the foundations of vast monastic cellars dating from the 12th century.e century.

At the helm of the Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa, not far from Epernay, the Champagne Hospitality group is adding Burgundy to its menu, with an immersion in the vineyards of Pommard thanks to the takeover of Château la Commaraine. Founded in the 12the After four years of renovation work, the heart of this estate - in the Pommard Premier Cru appellation - will house a five-star hotel with 37 rooms and suites, a swimming pool and spa, and two restaurants supervised by Michelin-starred chef Christophe Raoux.

A new lease of life for this hotel, known under the name of Château de Gilly to the many companies that organise seminars here. While meetings will still be held here in two dedicated areas, the renovated establishment, housed in a former residence of the Abbots of Cîteaux dating back to the 14th century, has been given a new lease of life.e Les Sources de Bourgogne, which was built in the 19th century, is now more leisure-oriented, with a gourmet restaurant as well as an inn, and the addition of a signature Caudalie spa. With this five-star, 49-room hotel just a stone's throw from the prestigious Clos de Vougeot and other Burgundy grands crus, the Les Sources group is continuing its tour of France's great vineyards, following on from Les Sources de Caudalie near Bordeaux, Les Sources de Cheverny in the Loire Valley, and an address in Alsace which is currently being renovated.

From one château to another. Already behind the Relais de Chambord, the result of the transformation - orchestrated by Jean-Michel Wilmotte - of a hotel with a direct view of François I's sumptuous hunting lodge, the Marugal group is at it again in Amboise. This time, it is reviving not just one but two establishments, the Choiseul and Manoir des Minimes hotels, both of which have been brought together to form the town's only five-star hotel. When it opens, the Relais d'Amboise will offer 63 rooms and suites, a restaurant overlooking the Loire, a spa in former troglodyte caves and the city's only rooftop bar. With a view of the Château d'Amboise, another favourite residence of François I and his special guest Leonardo da Vinci.

Normandy

With some 450 hotels in France, the B&B Hotels group is certainly no wallflower in the French hotel scene, continuing to grow at a good pace. As part of this, B&B Hotels will be strengthening its offering in Normandy, which already boasts around twenty establishments, with a hotel in Bayeux expected to open in March. This development is the result of the renovation and conversion of a former Première Classe hotel with 72 rooms. The Breton group expects to open several new hotels in its home region this year, including a new hotel in Brest, near the Arena, as well as in Concarneau, Landivisiau and Liffré. In parallel, other addresses will be proposed in Agde, Bastia, Fagnières, Grande Synthe, Verdun and Vierzon.

Following the opening of the Domaine du Liziec near Vannes and Talaia Hotel & Spa in Biarritz, MGallery will continue to expand its offer on the Atlantic coast in 2026 with a hotel on the island of Oléron. This is something new for the top-of-the-range brand, but not for the Accor group, since this hotel was known as Novotel until its conversion. Nestling between the national forest of Saint-Trojan and the Gatseau beach, in the heart of a Natura 2000 listed site, this hotel will retain from its past its wellness dimension with a renovated marine spa and thalasso centre, in addition to numerous outdoor activities. But its new setting, inspired by the seaside residences of Oléron and the Hamptons near New York, will house a restaurant overseen by chef Pierre Gagnaire and 102 rooms, including eight suites, all with views of the Atlantic or the surrounding pine forests.

Opposite the convention centre and just a stone's throw from the Grande Plage in Les Sables d'Olonne, the Cœur Marin hotel welcomes business groups in a setting that is as conducive to business meetings as it is to relaxation. The result of the transformation of the former Kyriad Prestige - a project supported by the Madeho group and led by the Wunder design and architecture agency - this new hotel aims to establish itself as one of the highlights of the seaside resort, with its 42 rooms, modernised seminar areas and, to top it all off, a rooftop where you can enjoy a drink and chat with the ocean.

Following the opening of Adagio Access Bordeaux Pessac last November, the partnership between Europe's leading hotel operator and the Sergic property services group will continue to materialise this year. The agreement will lead to the integration of nine establishments in France: some will operate solo under the Adagio Access banner at Saint-Martin d'Hères, near Grenoble, and at Villeneuve-d'Ascq, in the Lille suburbs; others will be a combination of Adagio Access and other Accor group brands. Among the latter, two will appear in Ile-de-France, in Villejuif and Ivry-sur-Seine, and another in the regions, in Aix-en-Provence. Located between Aix Centre station and the student district, a stone's throw from Parc Jourdan, the Adagio Access residence will offer 84 studios and flats, while the hotel will offer business travellers budget and design accommodation, in addition to a 28 m² seminar room.

As well as opening in Geneva, Ruby Hôtels will be opening in Amsterdam in May, with the Ruby Emma.

Recently taken over by the IHG group, Ruby Hotels has been announced in Marseille, close to the Euroméditerranée business district, just a few minutes from the Joliette metro station. The lifestyle brand will be taking over a former office building on Boulevard des Dames, transforming it into a 237-room hotel with a lively bar, a coworking space and a rooftop overlooking the Bonne Mère.

A small private island off the coast of Bandol, a corner of paradise between pine forests and blue waves. Paul Ricard made no mistake, buying Bendor in the 1950s to convert this still deserted rock into a popular holiday destination. The story of this little village is set to resume in 2021. The Ricard family has entrusted Zannier Hotels with the task of reinventing the island, in the company of architects Hardel Le Bihan and Niez Studio Paysagistes. The result is a contemporary resort with a total of 93 keys, including 39 at the Hotel Delos, with an atmosphere reminiscent of the glamour of the Riviera in the 1960s, and 49 others at Soukana, an establishment more focused on well-being and nature. There are also five two-storey Provencal houses, known as Madragues. A huge wellness centre with swimming pool, a private beach and eight gourmet restaurants supervised by chef Lionel Levy complete the offering on an island that can host business events or even be privatised.

Almost twenty years later. Closed since 2008, this Belle Epoque palace, launched in 1914 by property investor Emile Bernheim to attract the "Tout-Paris" to the shores of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, is to regain its original glamour under the aegis of the COMO group. Winston Churchill, Audrey Hepburn and many others have found the Beauvallon a privileged holiday destination away from the hustle and bustle of Saint-Tropez. Set in more than four hectares of gardens planted with pine and palm trees, this Côte d'Azur institution has been carefully restored to create the atmosphere of a private home, with 42 rooms and suites dotted with works of contemporary art. On the menu at this chic new address: a spa, a pool by the bay, an exclusive beach club, two restaurants and a bar. There are also 11 indoor and outdoor spaces for events ranging from board meetings to parties for 500 guests.

Closed for renovation since last October, this prestigious address on the legendary Promenade des Anglais will not be changing hands, remaining part of the Hyatt group. But its future will be written under another brand of the group. This will undoubtedly be a more luxurious signature, in keeping with its extraordinary location, facing the Mediterranean and this listed building dating from the 1930s, with its Art Deco façade decorated with sculptures by Sartorio.

The Radisson group is preparing to make its return to Cannes a few years after the former Radisson Blu 1835 was rebranded Canopy by Hilton. Its new base is in the La Bocca district, ten minutes from the Croisette and the Palais des Festivals, through the takeover of the four-star Luxotel establishment. With direct access to the beach and an outdoor swimming pool, all in a setting planted with century-old pine trees, this urban resort with 100 rooms, most with balcony, is in the process of undergoing a facelift to become part of the Radisson brand. Before it was closed for renovation, the hotel had two conference rooms measuring over 115 m².

Occitania

In full expansion since its inception just under three years ago, the Alfred Hotels group is focusing on acquiring establishments to renovate and reposition. As part of this strategy, two establishments in Toulouse will come under its banner this year, both in the historic centre of the Pink City and located close to each other: the Hôtel Castellane, with 53 rooms and three meeting rooms, and the Hôtel Ours Blanc, which has 44 rooms and will undergo a programme of renovation and expansion.

A world in its own image. The Accor group's contemporary Tribe brand will be taking up residence just a stone's throw from Montpellier Sud de France station, in the heart of the Cambacérès district, which is undergoing a complete transformation. Developed by Extendam and Banque des Territoires, this 120-room hotel is part of a new business district designed to host French Tech start-ups as well as schools such as Montpellier Business School and the headquarters of the Hérault Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Crédit Agricole du Languedoc. It's also a great environment for business travellers, who will find a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool and rooftop bar, as well as, of course, the brand's signature multifunctional space, the Social Hub, including a bar, coworking spaces and relaxation areas. Later in the year, the brand will also make its debut in the centre of Reims with the completion of the transformation and extension of an existing and ageing establishment, the Hôtel de l'Univers, located on boulevard Foch, opposite the city's railway station.

High up on the balcony of the Pyrenees, the famous Pic du Midi. Situated at an altitude of almost 2,620 metres, in a Unesco-listed site, the highest hotel in France is preparing for a new lease of life from next summer. Built between 1930 and 1933, the Hôtellerie des Laquets had been derelict for two decades, but the Pic du Midi joint development association has undertaken to refurbish it in order to diversify its tourist offering. The aim is to create a four-star, 16-bedroom hotel accessible by cable car from the Pic du Midi. Respecting the existing building, in particular its historic vaulted ceiling in local stone for a rustic chic feel, and combined with a contemporary extension in wood and stainless steel, with a refined Nordic-inspired design, the Hôtellerie des Laquets will offer top-flight gastronomy, designed by Renaud Lamazère and Michelin-starred chef Stéphane Tournié. The business brand is heading for the West Indies with its first resort in Guadeloupe, on the north-east coast of Grande-Terre. Marking the return of the Accor group to the island, the hotel will be located in Le Moule, in a project supported by the Guadeloupe Region and the SEM Patrimoniale, which aims to boost the archipelago's tourist appeal. The Pullman Royal Key Wellness Resort will offer its contemporary vision of the island's art of living, with 102 rooms, several bars and restaurants, a wellness and spa centre, a gym, a swimming pool and areas dedicated to business events.
