WOW Istanbul Hotels & Convention Centre is approaching 2012 with ambition, announcing the start of major works in February. The aim is to increase the number of meeting rooms from 13 to 34, with a total capacity of 6,500. The project, estimated at 20 million dollars (15.6 million euros), should enable the convention centre to boast the largest capacity in Istanbul. It includes the construction of a VIP lounge, equipped with a relaxation area and special meeting rooms. The resort, which is a member of Great Hotels of the World, aims to win the favour of MICE (Meeting Incentive Congress Event) professionals on the international scene: a market in which Istanbul is now ranked 7th worldwide, according to the resort's management.
