Mama Shelter continues its world tour and, after Singapore or Dubai, will arrive in Mexico at the beginning of December. The lifestyle brand of the Accor group, originally founded by Serge Trigano, will add a new address in the heart of the Mexican capital, as part of the the development of the French group’s offer after the opening in September of a Hyde hotel and pending the opening of the luxury and lifestyle hotel SO/ Mexico City Reforma.
For its part, the future Mama Shelter is located in the lively neighborhood of Roma Norte, a 15-minute walk from the metro and 30 minutes from the historic center of the metropolis. It will offer business travelers 100 rooms with a design as bold as always, a trattoria organized around a central bar like a lively patio from morning until evening, and, to top it all off, a rooftop bar. In addition to a fitness center, the professional nomads will also find there an «atelier» – a room for 38m² for meetings of about a dozen people –, the patio can also accommodate meetings and events.
Although Mama Shelter will soon head to Cape Town by the end of the year, later to Bangkok or the French Alps, in Val Thorens, its offbeat spirit is also expected in Porto. Accor’s lifestyle subsidiary, Ennismore, has concluded a project with investor Propreal Capital Partners to build a hotel in the heart of the Baixa district, just a few steps from Avenida dos Aliados and the historic center.
The brand’s second address after Lisbon will feature 120 rooms in an interior design imagined by the Dion & Arles studio, plus, of course, a restaurant and common areas animated with the Mama Plays playrooms and private karaoke rooms.
