Air Transat Just unveiled five new non-stop connections between Europe and Canada for the summer of 2027. The markets are taking full advantage of this expansion with the opening of Lyon–Quebec and Geneva–Montreal.
These two routes will allow for direct access to Quebec from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and the Franco-Swiss basin, with one flight per week departing from Lyon and two flights per week departing from Geneva. The airline will also launch the Barcelona–Quebec, Faro–Montreal and Birmingham–Toronto routes.
However, all of its flights will be seasonal, ending at the end of October. The frequency of flights will be one to two rotations per week.
Sebastian Ponce, head of revenue at Transat, said the following: : " We want to develop an offering that complements destinations and provides access to different travel experiences. Our summer 2027 program strengthens accessibility of Canadian destinations from the markets where we are already present.»
Lyon will join Paris, Marseille and Nantes among the French cities connected to Quebec without stopping by Air Transat. With the addition of a connection from Barcelona, the company will offer a total of five direct connections between Europe and Quebec during the 2027 summer season.
Lyon is nevertheless nothing new for Air Transat. The company has been serving Montreal-Lyon for the past thirty years. However, Geneva will be a first for the Canadian company.
Thanks to its partnership with Porter Airlines, Air Transat also allows travelers to take simplified connections to the rest of Canada
