The reopening of Venezuela to the world following the end of the American embargo, and the gradual normalization of living conditions following the earthquake in Caracas, are translating into the return of international airlines to the country.
The latest to have reopened an air route to Caracas, TAP Air Portugal The Venezuelan metropolis is once again served by two flights per week. The airline's Airbus A330s depart from Lisbon every Tuesday and Sunday.
On Tuesday, the flight departs from Lisbon at 11:50 and arrives in Caracas at 17:00. In the opposite direction, it leaves the Venezuelan capital at 21:00 and arrives in Lisbon at 9:00 the next day.
On Sundays, the flight departing from Lisbon is scheduled at 10:00, with an arrival in Caracas at 15:05. The return flight departs at 18:55 and lands in Lisbon at 6:55 the next day.
For the return flight to Europe, the arrival times in Lisbon allow for a connection with the rest of the continent. However, for the departure flight on Tuesday, the flight is probably the most convenient, leaving more time for transfer with a departure for Caracas in the late morning.
The other European carriers serving Caracas at this early time of the winter schedule are Air Europa and Iberia from and to Madrid, with five weekly flights for the first and six weekly flights for the second. Finally, Turkish Airlines also offers up to four flights per week from and to Istanbul.
Spring 2027 will also see ITA return to the Rome Fiumicino-Caracas route. The Italian carrier will offer three weekly frequencies on the Airbus A330-900 aircraft. For now, Air France-KLM has not announced its imminent return to Caracas. But everything can still change by spring 2027!
