The scope of the strike announced on Thursday, November 5, is taking shape. While the SNCF, the RATP and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) will provide more precise information tomorrow afternoon regarding the expected disruptions, the day should be less chaotic than some travelers might have feared in an explosive social climate.
In a brief statement quoted by France Info, SNCF indicates « SNCF Voyageurs train traffic will be slightly disrupted on the TGV lines, and disrupted on the Intercités, TER lines, and on the trains and RERs of Île-de-France ».
For its part, according to France Info, RATP is planning normal traffic for the metro, buses and trams, although some stations may be closed due to the protests. Traffic on the A line of the RER is also expected to be normal. In the Paris region, however, lines B, C, D and E of the RER, as well as SNCF Transilien trains, are expected to see traffic disrupted.
For air transport, a strike notice has been filed by several unions, without the main union of air traffic controllers, the SNCTA, or those of ground staff or air traffic controllers participating in it, thus leaving only slight disruptions to be expected.
