Qatar Airways joins the ICCA to develop MICE

Qatar Airways announced on 20 May that it had joined ICCA, the international congress association, with a view to developing the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) market in Doha.

A few days after the publication by the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) of its 2011 ranking of the most popular destinations for organising congresses, the international association has welcomed a new major partner: Qatar Airways. The airline said on Sunday that it was "banking on a booming hotel sector in the State of Qatar, [and intends] to encourage event organisers and companies linked to the MICE sector to develop their projects in the Gulf country to enjoy a five-star experience".
