Egencia heads north: a new centre in Lille Métropole in January

On Monday, Egencia announced the opening of a new customer service centre in Lille Métropole, in Tourcoing to be precise. This new location reflects the growth of the business travel agency in the French market as it celebrates its tenth anniversary.

It's a busy end to 2012 for Egencia. Alongside TMC's tenth anniversary, which marks a symbolic milestone, the forthcoming opening of a fourth French branch marks a new stage in the development of the third-largest business travel agency in France. From next January, the Expedia Group subsidiary will open a new customer service centre in Tourcoing, with the aim of employing 80 people by 2015. According to Jérôme Fouque, Managing Director of Egencia France, these new business travel professionals will be recruited locally to "contribute to the dynamism of the Lille area". "The choice of Tourcoing was motivated by the quantity and density of the employment pool, the good local training, and the involvement of local players who have shown a real interest in our project," explains Jérôme Fouque, who emphasises the desire of Expedia and its subsidiary to "create jobs in France", while "absorbing the growth of Egencia". Just over five years after the opening of its Marseille centre in 2007, the new French office, located in the Alhena business park near Tourcoing station, will contribute to the development of the business travel agency as well as to the business continuity plan (BCP) in the event of a crisis at one of the other TMC sites, present in Marseille, Paris and Lyon.
