Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has used the results of its annual study to guide travel managers through the obstacle course that 2014 could herald, embodied by a playful game of goose in the infographic published by TMC: an echo of the gamification trend identified by CWT as one of the new elements to be grasped in the management of a travel policy: "Promoting the travel programme more through playful techniques to increase traveller engagement or through interaction with travellers via social networks, an avenue mentioned for the future by 50 % of those surveyed, whereas barely 10 % of them are using it today," points out CWT. Another point to keep an eye on, according to the business travel agency, is the cost of communications abroad - the notorious roaming charges - and more generally the implementation of a mobile strategy: "Almost 90 % of business travellers are using their mobile phone. Almost 90 % of those surveyed would be interested in incorporating mobile hotel reservations into their travel programme" notes CWT, which is keeping the suspense alive: "in January 2014, CWT will be communicating more fully on the priorities for business travel in the coming months".
