Champagne and petits fours, but also vitamin-packed cocktails: Capital 8's Club Med Gym Corporate opened its doors in style on 8 March, at 28 rue de Monceau in Paris. Good news for the most energetic executives at this new site, who now have an alternative to the boring jogging in the Parc Monceau to keep fit. Especially as everything has been done in these brand new 300 square metres to make this alternative as attractive as possible. From the Technogym equipment - including the famous Kinesis wall - to the interior design by studio Marc Hertrich, the new space offers a wealth of references in a hushed environment which, according to the designer, plays on "the balance between the softness of the lichen and ivory colours and the dynamism of absinthe and orange".
Very top-of-the-range fitness, in other words, which fits in well with the image of this 64,000 square metre office complex inaugurated in September 2006 by the property company Unibail on the site of what was once the headquarters of EDF. "The installation of a Club Med Gym Corporate fits in well with the 'grand hotel spirit' that characterises the whole of the Capital 8 project," stresses Laurent Dubos, from the investment department of Unibail's Offices division.
A wide range of services
The establishment of a prestigious fitness club echoes the range of additional services put in place for Capital 8's corporate tenants, in particular the concierge service provided by Sodexho. This Capital 8 'plus product' is also to be found in the technological equipment - triband wi-fi and GSM throughout the buildings - and above all in the catering. Alongside the company restaurant with its traditional neon lighting, a Cojean salad bar and a brasserie in dark, elegant colours, supervised by Pierre Gagnaire, make a significant improvement to the ordinary.
These additional services justify the price - €785 per square metre per annum in face rent - and have already attracted prestigious tenants such as Rothschild, Aforge Finance, Eurazeo and Marionnaud, all of whom came to Capital 8 to set up their new head offices. From May, these companies will also be able to make use of the new spaces, including an ad hoc conference centre with a 141-seat auditorium at its centre. "Capital 8 tenants will of course benefit from preferential rates, but third parties will also have access to the new centre," explains Laurent Dubos. So there's plenty of room for fans and even the simply curious.
