Momondo study: in-flight WiFi under the microscope

Momondo has published a study dedicated to in-flight Wi-Fi. The flight comparator aims to give leisure and business travellers a clearer picture of the different pricing structures introduced by the major airlines for in-flight Internet access.

At a time when in-flight connectivity is - albeit gradually - becoming a differentiating factor for airlines, it has to be said that the various offers on offer are not necessarily easy to understand. To put it plainly: how do you choose between two airlines offering in-flight Wi-Fi access on the same flight? Without having to decipher the footnotes of a website? Momondo has tackled the issue by publishing an infographic comparing the main airlines, their pricing methods and their prices. "Whether you need to send that important business document or just want to chat to your friends on Facebook, surfing the Internet on a plane may be cheaper than you think," summarise the authors of the infographic. "Which airlines offer the best value for money, and which will let you use their wi-fi free of charge? From Delta to Emirates to Air France, there are 25 airlines currently providing Wi-Fi.
