According to a white paper published on 16 January by the GBTA and Concur, the lack of information on bookings outside the company, imprecise reporting and the complexity of tracking travellers are just some of the criticisms levelled by companies at the business travel solutions available on the market. Based on the observation that "current solutions only partially meet travel managers' expectations", the two business travel players are advocating the integration of open booking into new solutions. "The best solution for them is not a ban on open booking, but the possibility for employees to ensure that their travel, whatever the method of booking chosen, complies with the company's travel policies and is integrated into the system", the white paper states. The document, entitled "The Future of Business Travel Management Solutions", also attempts to define an ideal solution combining mobile functionalities, personalised profiles and risk management tools, while basing its technology on cloud resources.
