As the number of women travelling abroad on business continues to rise each year, particularly in so-called high-risk countries, International SOS and Control Risks are launching an e-learning course to provide information on the most common risks affecting women travellers. The module is based on practical advice and real-life situations, as women have a different risk profile to men. "For example, they are more vulnerable to the risks of harassment or assault. Perceptions of women and legal and cultural differences are also factors to be taken into account", explains Sara Caillere, Head of Safety Coordination for International SOS and Control Risks. This training is in addition to the other e-learning modules on "travel risk", including road safety and malaria, offered by these health and safety risk specialists.
