Uber Eats for Business: business travel on a meal tray

Following the creation of Uber for Business, which enables companies to manage their business travellers' car journeys, the American giant is now launching Eats for Business.

Last August, the GBTA (Global Business Travel Association) revealed in a study that 45 % of American business travellers in the Millenials category had installed the Uber Eats app on their smartphone. And since appetite comes with eating, the delivery service is thinking bigger. Ronnie Gurionthe head of Uber for Business, announced on 1er November saw the launch of Uber Eats for Business. From now on, business travellers will be able to order their meal from the Uber Eats app and delivered to their hotel room without having to pay in advance. Companies will be billed directly for the meal, depending on the amount they wish to pay. The employee will only have to pay for any overrun in the budget.

Companies will be able to authorise meal deliveries to offices.

Business owners will also be able to authorise meal deliveries for office lunches or long days, based on pre-defined criteria. Lastly, as with the VTC service, Uber Eats for Business takes care of the reporting part managers will be able to track the expenditure incurred by employees in the various departments of the company via a monthly invoice and adapt their actions accordingly.

For the time being, the service is limited to the US market What remains to be seen is when French and European companies will also be able to access this functionality.
