
The Group Deutsche Hospitality is adding a new string to its bow by acquiring a majority stake in the capital of Zleep Hotelswhich has 10 hotels in Denmark and one in Sweden, with a recent opening on the outskirts of Stockholm. With this acquisition, the German hotelier kills two birds with one stone, as it establishes itself in Scandinavia for the first time, but above all it extends its offer to budget hotels. Until now, the Deutsche Hospitality umbrella brand included four brands, the best-known and most luxurious being SteigenbergerThese are complemented by the IntercityHotel business hotels and two lifestyle brands launched in recent years, MAXX by Steigenberger and Jaz in the City.

But it is also a brand in full expansion, with four new hotels in Denmark soon to be added to the existing range. At the beginning of January, Zleep Hotels unveiled its ambition to double in size from 870 rooms today to 1,700 by 2020.
The merger with Deutsche Hospitality should enable Zleep Hotels to expand its footprint in Germany and Central Europe. Both parties will be investing several million euros in the development of the brand. As for Deutsche Hospitality, which currently has almost 150 hotels, the German group is expecting 30 establishments over the next three years with new Steigenberger restaurants in Egypt and the Middle East in 2019, as well as in Berlin and Doha airports, Bangkok and Bangalore in 2020. At the same time, IntercityHotel's offer in Germany will be adding around ten new establishments and expanding into new markets such as Budapest and Zurich, as well as Muscat and Nizwa in the Sultanate of Oman. The Jaz lifestyle brand is due to open in Vienna in 2020 and in Cape Verde in 2021.
