Accor, Singapore's leading hotel operator

The Accor group becomes the largest hotel operator in Singapore following a partnership with Global Premium Hotels Ltd. This will result in the integration of fifteen new establishments.

While Accor's presence in Singapore has been based mainly on luxury hotels - such as the Raffles - its agreement with Global Premium Hotels Ltd will enable it to gain ground in the budget segment.

Accor will finally be adding to its hotel offering in Singapore. Until now, the French group has been present mainly in the luxury segment, notably with theacquisition of Raffles and Fairmont but also through three Sofitel - including the Sofitel So Singapore. Out of 14 establishments, the luxury and premium segment includes eight hotels under the Raffles, Sofitel, Fairmont and Swissotel brands. In the mid-range segment, Accor has half a dozen establishments under the Novotel, Mercure and Ibis brands.

The partnership with Global Premium Hotels Limited is now in a position to cover thebudget hotels with 13 new hotels operated under the Ibis Budget. Unlike the French brands, some of these Ibis Budget will also include a restaurant or a barThe Ibis Budget in Clark Quay, for example, is just a few minutes away from the city centre. For example, the Ibis Budget Clark Quay, just a few minutes from the financial districtIn addition to a restaurant and bar, it has a rooftop swimming pool and fitness room.

The partnership will also see the addition of an Ibis Styles and a Mercure hotel, previously operated under the Park Sovereign brand. They will reopen under the Accor Group brand in mid-2020.

Accor has thus consolidated its position as the leading hotel operator in Singapore, bringing its total stock to 7,625 rooms spread across thirty hotels (3,357 rooms in the luxury and premium segment, 1,840 in the mid-range segment and 2,428 in the economy segment). Sales of rooms in the new hotels began on 7 October.
