A successful 2011 for Amadeus

Amadeus published its results for the 2011 financial year on Friday, buoyed by growth in market share, profits and the number of transactions.

All the lights are on at Amadeus, as demonstrated by the results for the 2011 financial year unveiled on 24 February. The year ended 31 December saw a slight increase in market share, up one point to 37.7%. Amadeus handled more than 947 million transactions during the year, up significantly on the previous year (+11.5%). Turnover was also up (+5.8% to 2712 million euros), as was adjusted profit (+20.7%). These are results on which Amadeus intends to build in 2012, despite the uncertain economic climate: "This year, we will be continuing our efforts to further consolidate our position as world leader and to continue to perform well despite the economic uncertainties we are facing," says Luis Maroto, President & CEO of Amadeus. He added: "We are confident in the success of our strategy and look forward to 2012 with cautious optimism. Sales in both our business segments will continue to grow and we will further reduce our debt with our cash flow generation".
