Accor continues to expand in Eastern Europe

Already well established in Eastern EuropeAccor has a number of projects underway in the region. Recently, in Poland, the Wiazowna Brant hotel joined the Mercure family, a brand which already has around twenty hotels in the country. Located near Warsaw, in the natural setting of the Masovian Landscape Park, this complex opened in 2009 and offers 60 rooms. In addition to its leisure facilities, it is also ideal for seminars in the great outdoors, with its five meeting rooms accommodating up to 200 people. Event participants will also be able to enjoy the 'active zone', comprising a one-hectare clearing and 3 hectares of forest, with a beach volleyball court, jogging paths and a lookout point with a campfire site.

Accor's expansion in Poland also involves the Mövenpick brand with an expected opening in Wroclaw in early 2023, the result of the takeover of a historic hotel in the city, the Hotel Grand. In the meantime, this hotel with its rich heritage will be renovated and expanded, as part of a long-term project to revitalise the area around the new central railway station. When it opens, the Mövenpick Wroclaw will offer 180 rooms, a restaurant, a bar and meeting rooms. It will become the brand's fourth establishment in Poland, after those in preparation in Kolobrzeg - on the Baltic Sea -, Poznan and Zakopane. Expected to open in 2022, it will, as in Wroclaw, see the transformation and extension of a historic hotel in the mountain resort, the Imperial.

Albania, Romania and the Baltic States on Accor's agenda

At the same time, the budget brand with a lifestyle accent has just taken over a hotel in Bulgaria, on the shores of the Black Sea, which became the ibis Styles Roomer Hotel Golden Sands in May. In addition to the Balkans, the brand will also be offering heading north of Europe in 2022, to Lithuania. In Kaunas, the Magnus hotel is undergoing a refurbishment phase to become part of the ibis Styles brand next year, with an 82-room hotel crowned by a rooftop bar and equipped with a conference area.

Another Baltic capital, Tallinn will see the opening of a Novotel Living long-stay hotel at the end of 2022.located between the old town and the port. Business travellers staying in the Estonian capital for a while will find 124 studios and two-bedroom flats, as well as a coworking space, a fitness centre, a restaurant and coliving areas reserved for residents, known as 'Club Houses'.

While Accor is focusing on long-stay hotels as one of its key growth areas, the French group is also preparing to launch a number of new projects. a Novotel Living in BucharestThe new Novotel Living Bucure?ti Baneasa is located close to the Romexpo business centre and the Pipera district, which is undergoing rapid development.
