On 30 July, Etihad formalised a code-share agreement with Aer Lingus, which is already in force.

The new code share agreement between Etihad and Aer Lingus is a logical extension of Etihad's acquisition of a stake in the Irish carrier, and will apply to flights operated from 15 September onwards. The United Arab Emirates carrier now has code-share agreements with a total of 36 airlines: a network which forms one of the three "pillars" of its growth strategy, along with the carrier's "organic development" and the acquisition of stakes in other airlines, according to the press release published on 30 July.
