Launched at the end of 2023 in Canada and then in the United States, baggage tracking with Air Canada now extends to Europe. Passengers travelling from Paris, London, Dublin and Edinburgh are now benefiting from this new feature within the Air Canada application. The service is also available to customers departing from Rome, Milan and Copenhagen.
Beyond Europe, Air Canada has also introduced baggage tracking in several destinations in Asia-Pacific and Latin America. This is the case for Tokyo (Haneda and Narita airports), Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore in Asia. But also for Bogotá, Cancún and Buenos Aires, São Paulo, MexicoPunta Cana and Tulum in Latin America.
Controlling the baggage circuit
Checked baggage is scanned at regular intervals as it passes through airports equipped with tracking.
Using the application, customers can track their personal belongings from check-in to loading onto the aircraft. Tracking is also valid for connections and on arrival. Travellers can therefore enjoy complete peace of mind at every stage of their journey.
The benefits include What's Next" functionality. It tells passengers the delivery carousel for their luggage. But also the transfer point or precise location where they will collect their luggage at the end of the journey.
If baggage is delayedcustomers using the application receive a notification in addition to the usual SMS and e-mail. They can easily fill in a delayed baggage report. They will then receive confirmation of receipt of the report, with a file number and a link to track updates.
