After a successful launch at the beginning of the year, travellers toAmsterdam Schiphol now have the option of reserving time slots for security clearance for both Schengen and non-Schengen destinations. The extension of this service came into effect on 6 July.
By reserving a time slot, passengers can pass through security at the time of their choice. This means they know exactly what time they will be expected at the security checkpoint. Border control is taken into account for non-Schengen flights. The last time a passenger can book for non-Schengen destinations is 90 minutes before departure.. For Schengen destinations, the latest time slot is 60 minutes before departure..
How does this service work?
Time slots can be booked online via the Schiphol website or app from three days before departure. Booking the slot is free of charge. and can be carried out on this link.
After making a reservation, travellers receive a confirmation e-mail containing a QR code. This code is scanned at the airport by a Schiphol staff member, who then directs travellers to the correct security checkpoint.
This service only applies to security checks. The Schiphol authorities would like to remind passengers that they should allow sufficient time for the security check.registration and deposit any luggage.
