Best Western announced at the end of last week the acquisition of WorldHotelsa voluntary chain à a strong business focus. With almost 300 independent, upmarket hotels, the brand is present in most of the world's major business cities, with its offer divided into three collections - Luxury, Elite and Distinctive. Best Western continues to expand its brand portfolio after launching Vib in the lifestyle segment and more recently Aiden in the mid-range and Sadie in the top range. "There is tremendous synergy between Best Western and WorldHotels. By joining forces through this new partnership, we will both gain in competitiveness."said David Kong, CEO of Best Western Hotels & Resorts. The two groups share a common desire to welcome under their wings independent hotels to give them the benefit of their commercial power.
While Best Western will be able to offer business travellers a greater number of top-of-the-range hotels in key destinations, WorldHotels will keep its own identity while benefiting from Best Western's distribution power. The German-born brand - WorldHotels was originally the Steigenberger group's central reservations office - will benefit from the commercial strength of the American hotelier, and its loyalty programmeto attract new members. "We are convinced that our distribution centre and our sources of revenue will benefit WorldHotels and attract many other quality hotels that are committed to their independence."explains David Kong.
