CES 2023: 10 new features at the world's biggest high-tech show

Start-ups, major brands, outlandish ideas or solid technological advances: among the thousands of exhibitors at CES 2023, Voyages d'Affaires has scoured the aisles of the show to select the most useful new products for business travellers.

Aficionados of Lenovo ThinkPad will be delighted to learn that their computer is now available as a smartphone in the same line with the Motorola ThinkPhone (it's the same house). Same orientation towards a professional publicwith quality and reliability at the top of the agenda, and the same kind of top-of-the-range specification, with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a 6.6" FHD+ definition screen and a precious fast charge TurboPower 68 W, which allows you to power either your smartphone or your computer and regain a full day's capacity in just 15 minutes. It incorporates the Think 2 Think solution, which boosts productivity through seamless integration between the ThinkPhone and a ThinkPad. Available in an 8/256GB version and particularly resistant (military grade, IP 68 protection), its price (over €500) has yet to be officially announced.

From recycled materials including 90 % of recycled magnesium and 55 % of aluminium. A OLED screen blue-light-reducing and Dolby Vision-compatible is available as an option, while for the video conferencesthe Dolby suite with Atmos Audio and active noise reduction with artificial intelligence should provide the best possible conditions. The smart camera also takes care of its users with a bad posture alert, while it is capable of reacting automatically to the presence of an unwelcome spectator, displaying a dedicated logo or blurring the image. With MagSafe charging, iPhones tend to heat up when left in position for long periods, as they do in the car, on a dedicated charger. The New Yorkers at iOttie make up for this with their Velox Pro ventilated charger with patented cooling technology, capable of charging at 7.5W (an Elite version capable of 15W charging will arrive later). A dedicated chip, the use of magnesium and a 9-blade fan spinning at 6,000 rpm ensure the thermal management of the whole system, while you drive at your leisure. Expect to pay around 80 $ at launch in the spring.

The small American company MOFT (Mobile Office For Travelers) must certainly have looked to Japan for inspiration for its clever origami-style computer stand. It simply sticks to the underside of the laptop and is invisible when folded up in the carry pouch (ultra-thin, 92 g). When unfolded at an angle of 15 or 25°, depending on the position chosen, the stand gives the laptop a much more ergonomic position, both for the keyboard and the height of the screen, contributing to better posture. It also tends to heat up less, helped by the graphene that makes up this accessory, reducing the operating temperature by an average of 5°C. 37.95 €, 4 colours.

One of the opportunities for this project, supported by Airbus Dev, is the possibility of making calls in an aeroplane in complete discretion, with 80 % muffling voice vibrations and absorption reaching -25 to -40 dB. Need to concentrate? The start-up Ampere has come up with a kind of safe temporarily take your smartphone out of your hands. All you have to do is set the length of time you want to leave it locked, from 5 seconds to 99 minutes. An app completes this routine by encouraging concentration time and the creation of a beneficial routine. This product won one of the many awards for innovation of the year at CES.
