Destination 2015: six new destinations for Etihad

Etihad will be setting course for six new destinations in the first half of 2015. Madrid, Edinburgh, Calcutta, Entebbe, Hong Kong and Algiers will soon strengthen the catalogue of the national airline of the United Arab Emirates.

From February 15, Etihad will be launching its new flights to Calcutta. The Indian destination, which will be served daily, will pave the way for a wave of new openings which will then include Madrid from 29 March, followed by Entebbe. The Ugandan business hub will be linked daily from 1 March.er May. This will be followed by Edinburgh (June 8), Hong Kong (June 15) and finally Algiers (June 17). In addition, the Abu Dhabi-Brisbane route will become direct from June, and will then be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner tri-class aircraft. "Our global network expansion planned for the first half of 2015 takes a long-term view, providing travellers with an ever-expanding range of destinations and connections via Abu Dhabi, the Etihad Airways hub," notes James Hogan, Etihad Airways CEO. He added: "These new destinations have been selected to extend our coverage and strengthen our services to customers in the strategically important markets of Europe, Asia and Africa.
