DOSSIER - London's great east: challenges for a real future
London is in the spotlight. After the wedding of the century, preparations for the Olympic Games, the Queen's Jubilee and Dickens Year are keeping the city on its toes, bringing a breath of fresh air after the financial storm.
As for the hotels, everything is ready. The four and five star hotels, brand new or just facelifted, are already in the starting blocks. As for infrastructure, the capital is investing billions of pounds to adorn itself with a new Olympic Park, architectural icons, ultra-efficient transport and, more broadly, the living, leisure and business districts of the future. To the east, of course. Where everything is new, but above all more creative and innovative. But that doesn't mean you can't head south for a weekend of relaxation and (re)discovery of Brighton, a city with old-fashioned charm that's so delicious.
