Emirates Airlines' Skywards frequent flyer programme has made it official that rewards can now be taken on Premium Economy flights.. The announcement was eagerly awaited by the 35 million or so members of the programme. The new rule allows travellers to redeem Skywards miles for Classic Rewards tickets or Premium Economy upgrades on all Emirates flights.
This new offer illustrates Skywards' commitment to enhancing the reward opportunities available to its members. Nejib Ben Khedher, Vice-Chairman of Emirates Skywardsexplains: " We are delighted to announce the introduction of flight awards in Premium Economy, a cabin that is very popular with our passengers. This project follows on from the success and positive feedback from the product. As well as strong demand from members wishing to use their Miles in Premium Economy, particularly to popular long-haul destinations such as London, Sydney, Melbourne and New York. ".
" The offer will initially be available exclusively to Skywards members, before being extended to FFP members of partner airlines. "he added.
Premium Economy travel from 7,020 miles
Skywards members can now redeem their Miles for a ticket in Emirates Premium Economyfrom 15,000 Miles one way. They may also request an upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy from 7,020 Miles one way. Requests can be made before the flight or at the Emirates check-in desk, subject to availability.
Emirates is currently thehe only airline in the region to offer a Premium Economy cabin. Emirates has already deployed its new product on 67 aircraft (32 A380s and 35 Boeing 777s). The airline has also welcomed nine A350s equipped with this cabin, and 56 others are due to join the fleet.
By March 2026, Emirates will serve 68 cities with Premium Economy aircraft. That's almost two million seats a year. The company plans to double this capacity to four million by the end of 2026.
Finally, the Skywards frequent flyer programme offers Classic Rewards on all flydubai flights from 5,000 Miles upwards, in addition to new Cash+Miles scales.
