Name, address, flight plan, means of payment and other baggage information: these are just some of the details - grouped together under the name "Passenger Name Record" (PNR) - that airlines will soon have to provide to the American authorities 24 hours before a flight takes off from or to the United States. Except in special cases, the data stored in this way must be anonymised after a period of six months. However, the transmission of this data has in fact existed "provisionally" for five years, under an agreement between Europe and the United States.
