
While tourism is always on the Eurostar's agenda, thanks in particular to events such as the Queen's Jubilee and soon the London Olympics, business travel is in short supply. As a result of the economic crisis, business travellers have turned their backs on the cross-Channel rail company, leaving the leisure sector to take the lead. In fact, despite the fall in business travel, Eurostar managed to post a slight increase in traffic in the 1er (+2%) with some 4.8 million passengers carried, according to the figures unveiled by the airline on 12 July.
