The new FairScore Evenementiel has just been unveiled by Kactus and FairMoove Solutions. Its aim is to make responsible commitments more legible and comparable, drawing inspiration - freely - from the Nutri-Score, which is already well known to the general public.
The MICE (Meetings, Incentive, Convention, Events) sector has no shortage of tools, and in particular labels, to promote sustainable initiatives. But according to Kactus and FairMoove Solutions, the originators of this new standard, an abundance of goods can be detrimental... " Faced with the proliferation of environmental initiatives, objective comparison of the levels of commitment of establishments remains complex (...) The coexistence of numerous labels and heterogeneous initiatives, often based on declarative logic, limits the ability of companies to compare offers objectively", say the parties concerned.
With this FairScore Evenementiel, the two partners intend to confront the operational reality of event organisers. Or, to put it another way, to get down to the nitty-gritty, using a "common language" that speaks to all those involved in the MICE sector. The evaluation proposed by the new scoring tool compares event venues on environmental criteria (energy, water, waste, catering, mobility, life cycle analysis), local criteria (local employment, partnerships, economic contribution) and social criteria (working conditions, HR practices).
Mass deployment planned from 2026
The FairScore Evenementiel must therefore establish itself as a decision-making tool in the MICE sector. And its widespread use in the MICE ecosystem is likely to be the ultimate test of its credibility. Hence the alliance between FairMoove Solutions and Kactus. The two allies state: " Thanks to this partnership, Kactus is mobilising its ecosystem of more than 40,000 partner venues in Europe to enable the large-scale deployment of FairScore Event. The system will be gradually integrated into the Kactus platform from spring 2026, with an initial target of 1,000 venues assessed from the launch phase. ".

Jean-Pierre Nadir, founder of FairMoove, explains the approach that led to the launch of this FairScore as follows: " For a long time, the promotion of CSR commitments in the events sector remained at the stage of intention. Companies made demands, but when it came to choosing a venue, they lacked the concrete elements they needed to make a decision. The FairScore was born out of this observation: for responsibility to become a real decision-making criterion, we need a common language, based on verified and comparable data. It is not a judgement tool, it is a maturity tool. It enables the market to move away from declarative statements and move towards concrete measures. This dynamic is already at work: several hundred players involved in the Kactus ecosystem have already adopted the FairScore for hosting, proof that the sector is ready to structure itself around common benchmarks. CSR doesn't need any more promises, it needs clear frameworks so that it can be understood by as many people as possible. ".
