You can't blame "Millennials to display a taste for luxury when it comes to eating during a business trip: this is what emerges from a study published on 7 August by the GBTA (Global Business Travel Association), carried out in partnership with Dinova. According to the report " Taking a bite out of Business Dining "the majority (51%) of travellers aged 18 to 34 use the fast-food restaurants during a business trip. In 18% of cases, these young professionals take their breakfast with them. In addition, Millennials are more reticent about allowing themselves little 'extras', even if these are included in their travel policy: 66% of them would avoid using room service, for example. Clearly - and not surprisingly - a taste for comfort comes with experience. Indeed, a large majority (79%) of professionals aged over 55 treat themselves to a top-of-the-range dinner during their business trips. The search criteria also confirm the generational divide: while 53% of Millennials are primarily looking for nearest restaurant70% of 'Boomers' (aged 55 and over) target the top-rated table. A little 'digging' into the smartphones of business travellers also reveals that a large majority (74%) of the oldest professionals have installed the application Yelp - which specialises in customer reviews, particularly in the restaurant sector - compared with just 36% among younger people. On the other hand, the latter often subscribed (45%) to the delivery application Uber Eatscompared with 16% for their elders... It should be noted, however, that only American business travellers - 509 of them to be exact - were surveyed by the GBTA as part of this study.
