Networking around the same passion
When was Club 42.67 founded?
Michel Geistodt-Kiener - We founded it in 2010 with three other golf enthusiasts and gave it the name 42.67, in reference to the diameter in millimetres of a golf ball! We are a subsidiary of the Ugolf group and have 128 members, mostly men, from small and medium-sized businesses and a wide variety of sectors: insurance, banking, IT, lawyers, journalists, etc.
How does the club work?
Michel Geistodt-Kiener - It's a bit of an English club, with our own rules and codes. The idea is to network around the same passion: golf. Exchanges take place through a calendar of events. Each year we organise five dinners with guest speakers, five breakfasts with small groups, 12 golfing competitions and two or three trips outside France. During these trips, the atmosphere is very friendly. We go to the UK regularly, each time to a different course. This year, for example, we'll be going to the Sandwich region. We should also be going to the Canaries. For these two trips, we usually have a group of around twenty people. But, in 2019, we are exceptionally organising a third trip... to the Land of the Rising Sun! As many of our members are also rugby fans, we're taking advantage of the World Cup to attend two matches and play on two different golf courses.
Apart from these high points, how do your members communicate with each other?
Michel Geistodt-Kiener - We've developed a specific application that allows them to follow our activities, see the calendar and get members' contact details. There's a lot of interaction outside the club, and the networking works really well!
