Lufthansa is giving its long-haul fleet a facelift: the German airline has successfully completed "the biggest refurbishment programme in its history", enabling it to offer a brand new Business Class on board its 106 long-haul aircraft, in addition to refurbishments in First and Economy, and pending the development of the new Premium Class.
Lufthansa has completed the renovation of its long-haul cabins

Some of the figures speak for themselves: 1.5 billion euros of investment since 2011, an average of almost €1 million a day, to exchange, modify or install almost 39,000 seatsincluding 600 seats in First Class7,000 seats in Business Class and over 27,600 seats in Economy Class. All in all, more than 1.4 million man-hours were spent... It's easy to understand why Lufthansa emphasised the "historic" dimension when completing this XXL renovation programme. The makeover extends to 106 long-haul aircraft Lufthansa, with the exception of the new First, which concerns "only" 76 of them... Pending the launch this autumn of a new New Premium Economy Class on all long-haul flights.

In addition to the new seats - the Business Class model is fully reclinable and reaches 1.98 metres long - The renovation programme also covers technology, with the installation of the Wi-Fi via the FlyNet system on all aircraft. Three quarters of long-haul aircraft are also equipped with access to the mobile networkwhich allows travellers to send messages or synchronise their data via their devices. Lufthansa has also developed new services and taken care of its catering needs, focusing since August on top-of-the-range, quality service.
