HOP! is strengthening its presence at the Brittany hub for the winter season, with increased frequencies to Marseille (two flights a day), Nice (one service a day) and Toulouse (three services a day). These flights are operated by regional aircraft of the ATR, CRJ and Embraer type with an average capacity of 50 to 72 seats.
At this Breton airport, HOP! will be competing with Volotea, which has announced the launch of new routes to Rennes from spring 2016. Volotea's programme is more modest in appearance, with two weekly flights to Marseille and Nice. On these two routes, the carrier will be using its 125-seat Boeing 717.
On the other hand, Volotea is pulling out all the stops at Marseille-Provence. The Spanish low-cost carrier will be opening five new routes next spring. In addition to the route to Rennes, Volotea will be flying to Prague twice a week from March, while in April it will be linking Marseille to Dubrovnik and Naples twice a week. Volotea will also be offering a weekly flight to Faro in Portugal. These new routes will be added to the existing Strasbourg and Venice services.
