On Tuesday morning, representatives of Iberia and the Spanish Official Chamber of Commerce in France (COCEF) met the French and Iberian press at the Club des Bateaux Mouches in Paris. The aim was to formalise an agreement between two long-standing partners in business travel between France and Spain, creating, according to COCEF President José Miguel García, "an air bridge" between the two markets. Iberia has thus become "the reference airline for the Chamber of Commerce", offering its members special fares on 30 routes between the two countries. In practical terms, this means that more than 300 companies and some 15,000 employees - a vital source of business travellers for the airline - now have access to modifiable fares with discounts, ranging from 15% to 50%. The various components of Iberia (Iberia, Iberia Regional, Air Nostrum and Vueling) are taking part in the operation, which covers 900 weekly flights. Eight French airports are involved: Paris, Lyon, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Marseille, Nice, Nantes and Strasbourg. In addition to fare reductions, business travellers will also benefit from 'business' services, such as access to the Iberia VIP lounge at Orly for holders of a Business class ticket.
