Iberia: towards the end of the strike

Announced by the Spanish government, arbitration has defused the industrial action initiated by Iberia pilots, who have lifted the strike notice that initially ran until 20 July.

Good news for business travellers to and through Spain: the strike by Spain's main pilots' union Sepla against the consequences of the launch of the low-cost carrier Iberia Express is coming to an end. After a twelve-day strike in December 2011, this industrial action, which began on 9 April and is due to last until 20 July, has led to the cancellation of almost a third of flights on Mondays and Fridays each week since the strike began.
