International flights to Nairobi resume

Traffic has been gradually resuming at Nairobi airport since Wednesday evening, less than 24 hours after the huge fire that hit Kenya's main hub. A flight from London was able to land on Thursday morning.

Despite the extent of the fire that partially destroyed several areas of Jomo Kenyatta Airport (JKIA) on Tuesday night, traffic is already resuming in Nairobi. Domestic flights resumed on Wednesday evening, followed this Thursday morning by international flights. The flight from London landed in Nairobi at 6.30 am local time, according to the BBC, which recalls that 16,000 passengers are welcomed daily at the Kenyan hub.
