2012 has got off to a good start for Marseille airport, with a sharp increase in passenger traffic: 978,530 passengers used the airport, an increase of +8.0% over the first two months of the year, and even +10.4% over the first 10 days of March. "After a 2011 largely impacted by the events linked to the Arab Spring, 2012 is off to a flying start with passenger traffic up by nearly 10%", the airport points out in a press release. "MP" explains these good results by the start-up of new Air France destinations, combined with the strong return of Ryanair. The airport hopes to maintain this momentum, thanks to a record number of direct flights: 138 in total.
