The inauguration of the Ring Rail Line will mark a milestone in the history of Helsinki airport. This new link between the Finnish gateway and the capital will be inaugurated this summer, as Ville Haapasaari has just confirmed. The director of Helsinki Airport is already talking about the most significant improvement for over 15 years... From the new Aviapolis station, located less than fifty metres from the Finnish airport, travellers will be able to reach Helsinki city centre at the end of the 18 km of this new Ring Rail Line, most of which will be underground. The completion of this project, which was initiated in 2009, is part of a vast development plan put in place by the operator Finavia, which aims to increase the airport's capacity to 20 million passengers by 2020, at a cost of 900 million euros.
