Opposite the 17th-century building, which houses 11 bedrooms, the architect has designed an ecological wooden building that meets the 14 HQE (High Environmental Quality) criteria.
Thanks to its solar panels for energy production, the recovery of rainwater for room use, the limitation and sorting of waste, the installation of a heat pump and the provision of ecological welcome products, Lecoq-Gadby has also just been awarded the highly sought-after European ecolabel. The only four-star hotel in Rennes, the project has added 14 extra rooms, including four suites, as well as a swimming pool and a second wellness area. "This extension has enabled us to improve our welcome for VIP customers," notes Véronique Brégeon, whose establishment is affiliated to the voluntary chains Exclusive Hôtels and Châteaux & Hôtels Collection. Originally a reception room for banquets, this charming residence has always paid particular attention to the gastronomy offered to its guests. Marc Tizon, former chef of the Palais restaurant in Rennes, was awarded his first Michelin star in 2008.
